Welcome to one and all! We have created this blog for the purpose of informing and uplifting all who come to this site. Our goal for this website is to create a place for you to go, as frequently as you desire, primarily for the purpose of getting updates about Stan’s treatments and progress toward good health. Some updates may even come straight from him. You will find messages and comments that others have posted herein, and you also may leave messages and comments for Stan and Carol, and others visiting this site to read and enjoy.
Secondarily, we are hopeful that by providing this site for you, you will come to use this tool as your FIRST AND MAIN CHOICE in your efforts to keep informed of the medical aspects of Stan’s treatment. This mode of staying informed will then open the way for you to spend your time with Stan and Carol in the positive and uplifting activities that you have always been accustomed to sharing with them – catching up on kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, travel experiences, MAC news, art exhibits, politics, you get the idea. It will also provide relief for Stan and Carol to not have to repeat themselves over and over again when all those who love them cause the phone to ring in hopes of getting news.
Our Dad and Mom are embarking on a journey, which requires strength – emotional, physical, mental and spiritual strength. Throughout their lives together, they have never wavered or faltered from living with courage and strength. To quote a person they have come to admire, Randy Pausch of Carnegie Mellon University, “No matter how bad things are, you can always make things worse. At the same time, it is often within your power to make them better.”
This is the essence of who they are and have always been – using the power they both hold within to make things better for everyone they love. Just ask anyone.
As the two of them face this newest challenge, they have made a conscious choice to fill their moments with faith, optimism, positive energy, and hope. They continue to live in the present, and they both want to feel of your love and friendship in the same manner that it has always been offered. And while it is Stan who must go through this physical experience, it is in fact both him and Carol who are going through this emotional and mental and spiritual experience together. For they are one!
Our greatest hope for Stan and Carol during these months ahead is that they will be able to spend all their time and energy on the business of Stan getting well. Each of us can empower them to do just that.
Please do not misunderstand. This is not to put a ban on contacting Stan and Carol. To the contrary, they are so very grateful for your love, concern, support, and especially your prayers. As we surround both of them with our own happiness and joy of living, and our gratitude for their lives, we will be serving them with the ultimate expression of love taught to us by our Savior, Jesus Christ – Charity.
Thank you so very, very much for your faithful prayers in their behalf. Thank you for your love.
